Quest For The Bay: Northern Manitoba Snowmobile Adventure
Join us on this all new multi-day tour by Heartland Travel as we journey by snowmobile from Sasagiu, MB all the way to Churchill! This unique winter adventure will give you the opportunity to get to know Manitoba and it’s winter landscapes and wildlife as you Travel North on trails less travelled to the frontier of the mighty Hudson Bay.

March 12 – March 16, 2023
Requirements for the Tour:
All participants to use their own snowmobile
All participants are required to have a Snopass and vehicle insurance
All participants must provide an example of experience (long distance trips/ tours)
All provincial and local COVID-19 restrictions and regulations will be followed: Due to current restrictions, the Town of Churchill is requiring all visitors to be fully vaccinated, Manitobans included.

Return Via Rail Churchill to Thompson
Snowmobile return via Arctic Gateway to Thompson

Itinerary:
– Day 01 – Arrive Sasagiu Rapids Lodge
Meet and Greet, evening welcome dinner reception and group leader review the tour details
Overnight at Sasagiu Rapids Lodge
– Day 02 – Sasagiu Rapids Lodge to Gillam
8:00am Breakfast at Sasagiu Rapids Lodge
9:00am Depart Sasagiu Rapids Lodge on approx. 160 km journey to Kelsey Generating Station
Lunch at Kelsey
Depart Kelsey on approx. 118 km journey to Gillam
Late afternoon arrival at the Kettle River Inn in Gillam
Dinner at Kettle River Inn restaurant.
Overnight at Kettle River Inn & Suites
– Day 03 – Gillam to Churchill
7:00am Breakfast at Kettle River Inn restaurant
8:00am Depart Gillam for Hydro shelter at Owl River – approx. 118 km
Arrive at Owl River shelter or McClintock for a lunch (prepared in Gillam)
Depart Owl River/Deer River then Churchill River for Churchill – approx. 155 km
In the evening arrive at Tundra Inn & Dinner at the Hotel
Overnight Tundra Inn
– Day 04 – Churchill
Breakfast at hotel
Open day for touring set up by North Star Tours (on snowmobiles)
Overnight at Tundra Inn
– Day 05 – Churchill to Thompson
Free Day to Rest and enjoy Churchill
12:00pm Load snowmobiles on Arctic Gateway train
7:30pm Depart Churchill on overnight VIA train to Thompson
– Day 06 – Thompson to Sasagiu Rapids Lodge
Passengers arrive Thompson at 11:30am and transfer by bus to Sasagiu
Once Arctic Gateway arrives in Thompson station, snowmobiles are picked up and brought back to the Lodge by Steve at Sasaqiu.

Overnight Sasagiu Rapids Lodge
– Day 07 – Depart for Home
